RICHIE PARDO QUINTET

Bassist Richie Pardo has been playing around Chicago since the early 1970s. He started out as a
pianist, working with various rhythm & blues bands and later playing with local jazz greats Tommy
Ponce, Ira Sullivan, Carl Leukaufe, Bob Dogan, Franz Jackson, Don, Jones, Joe Iaco, Robert Barry, Lin
Halliday, and Leroy Jackson. In 1979 he decided to switch to bass when his bassist, Don Jones, met
an early and untimely death. Richie continues to work around Chicago and resides there today.

Bill “Bugs” Cochran has been a stalwart on the Chicago jazz scene dating back to the 50’s.
He has performed with many great players. Starting in 1956 he appeared on about six records of
the famous Sun Ra band, with such greats as John Gilmore, Pat Patrick, and Julian Priester. He
presently works around Chicago regularly.

In 2003 Violinist Mark Feldman received a Grammy Certificate for his performance on Michael
Brecker’s Wide Angles. In 2006 ECM Records released his recording “What Exit.” In 2007 he was
the recipient of The Alpert Award in the Arts. He has appeared with the John Abercrombie Quartet,
John Zorn, the Kronos Quartet, as well as with Pianist-Composer Sylvie Courvoisier. He has
appeared as violin soloist with The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, The WDR Radio Orchestra of
Cologne, The Het Brabants Orchestra of Einhoven Holland and the WDR Jazz Orchestra of Cologne.
He has released two new CD’s: “Oblivia” and “To Fly To Steal.

Ron Dewar is a jazz tenor saxiphone player in the Chicago area. He has toured and recorded
with many well-known musicians, including Clark Terry, Sarah Vaughan, and Louis Bellson. In the
1970s, Dewar was the leader of the traditional jazz band, The Memphis Nighthawks. He has also
appeared at the Newport Jazz Festival. Memphis Nighthawks recordings include the albums Jazz
Lips and Live at the Stabilizer.

Jeremy Kahn is one of Chicago’s busiest pianists, playing in jazz venues, orchestra pits and
recording studios, and it is a member of the Chicago Jazz Ensemble, led by Jon Faddis. He has
performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Aretha Franklin, Phil Woods, Charlie Haden, Pepper
